Who are the Migos?

Quavo, born Quavious Keyate Marshall and born on April 2, 1991 is a member of the rap trio, along with Offset born Kiari Kendrell Cephus on December 14, 1991, and Takeoff born as Kirshnik Khari Ball on June 18, 1994. The three rappers are family, Quavo being Takeoff's uncle, and Offset being Quavo's cousin. They grew up together in Gwinnet County, 30 minutes north east of Atlanta. In interviews, the trio says their neighborhood was hard to life in, so they took to music to get away.

Before the Music (c. 1990's)

All living together in Georgia, Quavo's mother took care of all three boys. They all had different interests, but their love of making music kept them together. While in middle school, they boys would rap and perform for their friends. They were made fun of and were not supported. Quavo was the first to perform to his friends, and when he got bullied for it, the other two came to his defense, and the rap trio was formed.

Rise to Fame

Migos had always been writing music to pass the time growing up. Originally known as Polo Club the trio always wanted to be famous. They kicked off their career doing small gigs at local spots, and releasing mix tapes. Their first official mix tape under a label, Juug Season, released in 2011 and gave their career it's start. In the early 2000's, the group performed at a university and got arrested on site for possession of drugs and unregistered firearms. The trio and their entourage went to jail on felony charges, and used their time to create ideas for new music.

Success

As of 2018, Migos have a net worth of over $10 million. They have released singles such as "Bad and Boujee" and "Versace" which hit the top of the U.S hip-hop charts, and charts all around the world. They are quickly becoming the most famous hip-hop group of the times.They are even being called the Beatles of our generation by other music artists. The trio's career blew up quickly, and with the latest release of their album Culture II which dropped early 2018, they are only headed up from here.
