Blackbird

My Blackbird website; based on the poem by Wallace Stevens

This webpage is an interpretation of the poem "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird" by Wallace Stevens. I created the bird icons which accompany the stanza numerals and used them to play with repetition and difference, key motifs of Stevens' poem. Overall the site is simple yet elegant. The color scheme connects with the poem and appears clean to the eye.

Recipe

My recipe website; a vegan quinoa power bowl

This website was my first attempt at responsive design. I am fond of the fun color scheme I picked for this design; it matches the primary colors in the presented recipe. Components of the website are functionally responsive, which was the primary goal of its creation.

Sequential

My sequential website; a timeline of the band Fall Out Boy

While I took on a bit of a challenge with the design of this site, utilizing the relatively uncommon X-axis scroll to imitate the passage of time, it achieves its purpose in that it conveys a story. The title of the website reflects my purpose: I explore the band Fall Out Boy and their musical evolution from a small Chicago pop-punk band to one steeped in a plethora of genres and influences. The unconventional navigation using the band's album art gives users the experience of evolving alongside Fall Out Boy as they explore the site.
