Transcoding Project

Project on the principe of transcoding for Digital Technology and Culture. We were to choose one of Manovich's 5 Principles of New Media and represent it in some sort of fashion. Going with Manovich's last principle, transcoding, I decided to represent it by converting Super Mario Brothers first level into a number of different media. From an image, to MIDI code, to audio, to raw data, and back to audio again. This is to contrast your expectations of seeing the Mario level and thinking of original level theme song compared to this transcoded version from the actual visuals.
