Places to avoid in Longview and Kelso WA

The Highlands

You will notice, as soon as you step foot into the Highlands, that it feels like you are stepping into another dimension. This is a dangerous neighborhood with a high crime rate, and is considered "the ghetto" of Longview.

St. John Medical Center

Thankfully I've never had to go here, but I know quite a few people who, at one time or another have been patients and the majority of them have stated that they would rather die than ever return to this hospital.

South Kelso

While it's not as bad as the Highlands, South Kelso is still a pretty ghetto neighborhood with a high rate of crime. If you ever come across this bar pictured above it's probably best to just not go in, unless you enjoy being exposed to a lot of tweekers and wierdos.

Food Stamp Beach

This would be a nice wooded area along the river except for several campsites like the one pictured above. I wouldn't run around here barefooted if I were you, chances are high you will step on a needle.

Lake Sacajawea

I will admit, Lake Sacajawea isn't that bad, but lets not forget about the dead body they found floating in it!

Cowlitz Co. Jail

This one's pretty obvious. I've found myself here two or three times and as you can imagine, it's not very much fun. The food is crap, and it's 23 hour-a-day lockdown. But if you live in this area, chances are, you will probably see one of your friends here.
