The Positive Effects of Video Games

Too many times in life, I have heard negative connotations about video games. These wonderful statements can range from “you can’t learn from them, they just make you unintelligent” to “there is nothing healthy about them at all”. Personally, I love playing video games in my free time and believe that there must be a positive argument for them. To find evidence of support, I began researching for scholarly articles and studies that proved there was a bright side to virtual gameplay. This website is the final product of my investigation of the benefits of playing videogames. I found that no matter what type of game you choose, there seems to always be some sort of benefit every time you begin to play.

The main topics that I have chosen to convey in this website are addiction, video games being used as a source for education and work-related learning, and lastly, video games being used as a source for mental and physical health. I believe that people mainly see the addiction side of video games. To show the difference in negative dependencies, I provided a counter argument to its statistic using addiction numbers of social media. I then used the other topics of discussion to further emphasize the important benefits we all can gain and accomplish from playing video games. In all, I have learned that video games can teach us to become more mentally and physically prepared for our everyday lives, no matter what the situation happens to be.
