A Light Fade

The sun cracks the dark I hold to the [[fog of sleep]] But the light calls me

My feet touch the [[floor ]] The cold penetrates my feet Smoothness underneath

My mind is troubled Blasts of [[unease ]] assault me But why eludes me

Nothing new to me Disquiet seems to stalk me Waiting to strike out [[My Escape]]

There’s a place I go A place for me to escape Where I can [[just be]]

Morning [[rituals ]] Both calming and exhausting Make demands of me

Cupped hands of water Washing the [[fatigue]] from me Promising good things

I [[pull]] on my clothes And grab the things that I need My escape awaits

I eat my breakfast Thoughts of the [[road before me ]] And things yet to come

I turn off the lights And check the oven and the heat Almost [[time to leave]]

I close the front door Saying goodbye to my house Until [[the evening ]]

My car a comfort Warm seat cool air [[console me ]] Calmness awaits me

A meek [[path ahead]] Swirls of fine dust tease me Gone in just a breath

Hands brush splintered wood Years of moss [[under my feet]] Heavy timbers creak

They start to sneak in Worries that pull me from sleep Plague my thoughts and deeds [[Start To The Day]]

Contours support beneath Large, [[smooth and cool]] beneath me And the day moves on

My eyes are closed tight Sun and branches cast shades Cold and warm alternate [[Light]]

The day and [[light fade]] I need to leave before long As light absconds me

This place gives me peace A break and time to unwind The deep breath I need [[Credits]]

You slept in too late You have to make up the time Too many things to do [[The Floor]]

Slept past my alarm I have lost a lot of sleep I needed the [[rest]]

Your floor needs some work You never [[clean up]] enough You are so dirty

I meant to pick up There is much I need to do I will get to it [[The Day]]

You do not have time You have [[slept]] the day away So much left undone

I always do this I need to stop [[worrying]] One day off won't hurt

Streets and roads are clear My car is moving along To [[where I'm heading ]]

Noises in the thick Beasts [[lay in wait]] stalking me Or is it the wind

It's there, in my mind The rock where I spend my time When life allows it [[The Bridge]]

The water beneath What is hidden in the depths Things that no one sees [[The Rock]]

My body feels light All the doubts that keep me bound Unravel from me [[My Eyes]]
