Tokyo

Finally my first trip to Tokyo!
It was a couple years ago, in November of 2015 that I took a 8 day trip to Tokyo, Japan. Even that was not long enough.
These markers are some of the areas that I went to while I was in Tokyo. Go ahead and click on one and see where I was at!

Narita

We flew from Portland to San Francisco to Narita Airport.
This place was huge! Within here we went through customs and then we went and picked up our JR passes and a 3 day metro pass along with our portable wi-fi.
Then we took the Narita Sky Access, a half-an-hour train ride all the way to Asakusa, where our Hostel is at.

Asakusa

Asakusa is one of the oldest areas of Tokyo and they like to keep it with a older traditional style in the place. Within they have many areas that look like giant alleyways that are all lined with small shops and paper lanterns lighting the night sky.
Our Hostel was K's House Tokyo Oasis, and it was more like a mini hotel than a traditional hostel. Everyone there was very nice and acted more like a friend than being an employee.
The Hostel was also right in the middle of all of those shops and was a couple of blocks away from Sensoji Temple and Kaminarimon Gate.
Which we walked through Kaminarimon Gate and the courtyard of Sensoji every single night we were there to get back to our room.

Akihabara (Akiba)

Akihabara, or Akiba or short, is the anime, videogame, arcade, technology central of Japan. This is the HQ of all the nerd culture of Japan is at. And it is glorious. 6 story arcades everywhere, 8 story shops of Gundam, anime merch, manga, and Japanese videogames.

Shibuya

Shibuya is the heart of the fashion shopping and is also home to the famous Shinjuku crosswalk. So many people and shopping malls around. They even have a 9 story womans only clothing mall.

Harajuku

Here at Haraku is a place for quirky fashion and cosplay like outfits. There are a bunch of quirky shops around. There is even an owl cafe where you can drink with real owls.
Here we went and visited Meiji Shrine which is a small hike away from all of the shops and into a beautiful forest. The shrine was huge and looked amazing.
It was also here in Harajuku that we went to a sushi called Sushi Nova. Were you order your food on a tablet and then after the chefs make it freshly, they shoot it out to you on a robotic dish.
