If I were going to do a short documentary on the Eagle Creek fire I would focus on the recovery efforts. I would frame the documentary on the perspectives of the wildlife recovery teams. The cleanup crew fire fighters. The land surveyors and the stabilization crews. Then to the forest recovery tree planter crews. I would interview the incident commander to gain a perspective of the damaging effects of the fire itself. I would also interview the loggers and the forest industry professionals to get a perspective of how sustainable logging could reduce the effects of large fires. For the visuals I would use stock footage of the fire, then I would take footage of the current forest. Focusing on burned areas, wide shots, and then close ups of the damaged trees. I would also use logging footage of sustainable logging practices and shots of managed forests. The theme would be sustainable forest management could potentially save millions in firefighting costs, as well as life and livelihood.
