History of Esperanto
The language was created in 1887 by Polish citizen L.L. Zamenhof, under the pen name Doktoro Esperanto. Zamenhof had intended to use all the romantic languages in europe to create a simple alternative language that people can learn to communicate all over. It was put to a vote to become the offical language of the U.N., but unfortunately lost to English.
Is Esperanto Easy to Learn?
Since Esperanto is an 'artifical' language, the usability and easy of conception were in mind as Zamenhof brought it to life. It takes the easiest parts of all Europeon languages, some altered for usability, and ignores gender specifics to descriptors. In fact, the only change in the gramar is wether or not it is a possessive statement.
