Pork Bola Bola with Misua and Patola

Often my mom makes this dish and it causes siblings to fight over who gets the first dibs on the soup.
With it's thin noodles sitting among tasty meatballs, it is a great way to warm up a cold day or any day!

misua soup

Meatball Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium yellow onion minced
  • 6 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper

Soup Ingredients

  • 3 ounces misua
  • 1 Knorr Pork cube
  • 1 medium patola slices
  • 1/2 cup chopped scallion
  • 4 cloves garlic crushed
  • 1 medium yellow onion minced
  • 1/4 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons patis fish sauce
  • 6 to 8 cups water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil

Meatballs:

  • 1: Prepare meatballs by combining all mentioned meatball ingredients in bowl
  • 2: Scoop 1 1/2 tablespoons of mixture and form into a ball
  • 3: Repeat step 2 until mixture is comletely used
  • 4: Set it aside
  • 5: Heat oil in a pot. Once oil becomes hot, panfry meatballs until outer part turns light brown.
  • 6: Remove meatballs from pot. Set it aside

Misua soup:

  • 1: Use the remaining oil and saute garlic until golden brown
  • 2: Add onion and cook until onion softens
  • 3: Pour water and let it boil. Add pan-fried meatballs back
  • 4: Add Knorr Pork cube and stir. Cover pot and cook on medium heat for 15 minutes
  • 5: Add misua and patola. Cover and cook for 5 minutes
  • 6: Season with fish sauce and ground black pepper. Stir
  • 7: Add scallions and serve in serving bowl
  • 8: Serve and enjoy!
