For this project, I used HTML, CSS, and Skrollr.js. My idea for this project is to have an animated timeline which depicts a series of important events surrounding The Stonewall Riots. I chose to use Skrollr because it allowed me to create a vertical skrolling timeline and to add a dynamic interest with the animations. The color palette I chose reflects the historical nature of the events and the gay pride colors.
I chose to create this project because a lot of people inside and outside of the queer community don't know the history of queer liberation. Many queer people don't learn about queer history because it isn't taught in schools and often queer people don't grow up surrounded by other queer people. I hope that both straight and queer people can learn about a monumental, historic, and important event in United States' history.
