Halls of Termineth

It was easy for me to search through the abandoned halls of the fortress [[Termineth]]. My partner and I had fallen on some hard times. I plan to see what I can get from within Termineth. The warriors had to evacuate but never wanted to talk about what they experienced.

The hallway seemed to go on for miles. The ground was cracked and riddled with loose armor and weapons. It looked like soldiers were scrambling to go towards the front door. The door opens to reveal a room that looks to not have been touched by time. The beds were made, the central fountain's water seemed to be fresh, and dust and dirt were nowhere to be found. I could see, at a glance, chests that were at the foot of the beds. I could look through the [[bed chests]] or look in the [[fountain]].

The air started to vibrate. The water stopped flowing. I could see the walls begin to crack. Fear gripped my body, I started to run, and I saw the white eyes of something [[evil]]. <audio src= "aud/Monster.mp3" volume 0.1 autoplay>

<img src="img/Shadow.jpg"> It stood about 14 feet tall with arms as long as spears and fingers like daggers. A human-like creature with eyes that projected light like torches pursued me at a speed that was faster than any person I had ever seen. I could see the light grow more behind me. I needed to [[escape]].

I rounded a corner. I could see the fingers reaching past me in an attempt to grab me. I had two options that I could do. I could either [[duck]] or [[hide]].

I open double doors to a massive space with a long table and a fountain in the center of the room. I saw chalices and plates that I knew I could sell for a reasonable price, but what caught my eye was a gem on the throne that would flicker many colors. I could ascend the [[throne]] or go examine the [[fountain]].

Opening the bed chests, I found spare clothes and some trinkets. The only thing that caught my attention were some jewelry boxes wrapped like gifts. I feel like I am being watched. I hear [[rumbling]] come from within stronghold Termineth.

<img src="img/Fountain.jpg"> I approached the fountain and looked inside. I found some loose coins but nothing of great value in the waters. I knew how the old lord liked having fountains in many of the rooms in Termineth because he believed that the sound of water would be relaxing to the residents of the fortress. I remember some guards saying they heard sounds coming from the fountains at night. I feel like I am being watched. I hear [[rumbling]] come from within stronghold Termineth.

I ascended the throne, and my hands grabbed onto the gem. I could feel eyes on me. I turn to see fingers gripping the sides of the Fountain. I started to feel a [[rumbling]].

I fell to the ground, sliding to escape its grasp. I round out the front of the door, grabbing and slamming it closed behind me. I didn't leave with too many riches, but I was able to escape with my [[life]].

I ran into the closest room, it was small with little place to hide. I felt dread flood my body as I could feel the long fingers of the creature grab me. All I can see is [[darkness]]

Using what could salvage from my encounter at Termineth, I was able to return home and move to a farm with my partner. Far away from the halls of Termineth.

<img src="img/Termineth.jpg"> The stronghold Termineth was built in the center of town during the second age to protect it in case of war but also held the old lord's treasures. I arrived at the great doors in the dead of night. There were two possible ways for me to enter the entryway. There was the [[left]] that led towards the barracks and [[right]] towards the great hall.
