Bryce Canyon
Bryce Naitonal Park, one of five national parks in Utah, gives incredible sights to its visitors. Established in February 1928, the beauty and unique geography make Bryce an excellent place for scientists and tourists alike. The towering hoodoos, epic ponderosa pines, and unmatched air quality make Bryce a must-visit park. NPS
Lassen Volcanic
Lassen Volcanic National Park was established in August of 1916. All four types of volcanoes found in the entire world are represented in Lassen Volcanic National Park: shield (Prospect Peak), plug dome (Lassen Peak), Cinder Cone (Cinder Cone), and Composite (Brokeoff Volcano) volcanoes. NPS
Mount Rainier
The marvelous Mount Rainier National Park, with an original name that varried and was similar to'Tacoma,' was established in 1899; it was the fifth park in the collection. The highest mountain in the northwestern Cascade Range, Mount Rainier has 25 named glaciers that adorn the mountain, the most of any mountain in the continental United States. Little known fact: Mount Rainier is a strato volcano, and while it has not erupted since the mid-1800's, its next eruption is likely to be of great magnitude. DOI
Banff
Banff National Park, an incredibly popular Canadian National Park was established in 1887. Not only was this park Canada's first, but it was the world's third establisehd national park. Banff resides in 2,564 square miles and contains several glaciers that tower higher than 10,000 feet. Britannica
Death Valley
Death Valley National Park, located between Nevada and California, was established as a national park in 1994, after previously being a national monument in 1933. In the Death Valley Black Mountains, there are 1.8 billion-year-old metamorphic rocks that are exposed, giving incredible depth to the geological history. Additionally, the human history that extends throughout the valley dates to at least 10,000 years ago. The Ohio State University
Crater Lake
Established in 1902, Crater Lake National Park is the depest lake in America at 1,943 feet and was "born out of a cataclysmic volcanic eruption" from the 12,000 foot-tall Mount Mazama. The lake recieves all of its water from rain and snow, thus eliminating the sediment and mineral deposits, making it one of the cleanest and clearest lakes in the world. DOI
