“Sadly, no,” you sighed. “I found my old laptop, but I think it was broken. I couldn’t turn it on, and it looked a bit smashed.”

“Oh?” Big Boss arched a ginger brow.

“I meant to take it with me,” you said, “but I dropped it and I didn’t see where it landed. I suppose it shattered against the cliff rocks and into the sea.”

Big Boss thought for a moment. “Well then, kiddo. We gotta get out of here quick, ya know. The rest of the commune is going to split up, but I’m starting to think that you could use some company.”

“I can manage alone,” you contested. “Better to split up as well as we can.”
