Statement

This website is my project for DTC 355. I decided to create a webpage, containing a book about legendary creatures because such topics as myths and legends have always been attracrive and appealing to people. While working on the project, not only did I learn many facts about legendary creatures, but also I figured out how to use Javascript to create the book with flipping pages.

Dragon

dragon

A dragon is a reptile-like legendary creature that appears in the folklore of many cultures worldwide. Dragons have often been depicted as winged, horned, four-legged, and capable of breathing fire. It is conceived in some traditions as evil and in others as beneficent.

Griffin

A griffin is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts, and the eagle the king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature. Since classical antiquity, griffins were known for guarding treasures and priceless possessions.

Unicorn

A unicorn is a legendary creature that has been described since antiquity as a beast with a single large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead. It was commonly described as an extremely wild woodland creature, a symbol of purity and grace. Its horn was said to have the power to render poisoned water potable and to heal sickness.

Mermaid

A mermaid is an aquatic creature with the head and upper body of a female human and the tail of a fish. Mermaids are sometimes associated with perilous events such as floods, storms, shipwrecks, and drownings. In some folk traditions, they can be benevolent or beneficent, bestowing boons or falling in love with humans.
