It was a nightmare. I came out of a fever dream with fractured memories. I had struck Selene and done something worse to Jon. What happened to me? My whole body ached, my vision blurred, and my fingers were numb. I heard voices booming all around, overloading my ears. Selene was lying on the floor next to me. Where were we? I tried to say something to her, but all that came out was a whimper, and a large man came over to us. Sand fell across my face, and there was only a black dreamless sleep.
