Corvarra is was unassuming from an outside perspective. Her suit of armor was pristine, solid plates of dark steel layered with blood red capes. She appeared strong, put together, and like a champion. However, after the second burning, her real self was exposed. Beneath her steel helmet and mask was not a brave woman, but rather a weak, helpless lamb, a single bloody tear dripping from its wide eyes. Since, Corvarra’s armor has never been quite as shiny, her sword not as sharp, and her layers of cloth beginning to show wear.
Corvarra came to life during the First Burning. Andraea, like Viata, was creating her army, and in her army, she not only wanted a companion, but a hero for her army to look to- someone courageous enough to face anything. Andraea and Corvarra were able to bring stability to the world, creating society and all the innovation to come from it. But, when the second burning came, and it was Corvarra’s time to fight for Andraea and the society she built, Osiron, the God of Destruction, dealt a critical blow to her armor, exposing her for what she truly was: fragile and scared. Not the brave figure Andraea imagined, but nonetheless the courageous one who would sacrifice herself again if needed. This blow to her armor was not without consequence: while she held Osiron back, and lived through the second burning, it’s said that her existence is fragile, and a mortal, much less a god, could end it all for her.
Corvarra has always been worshipped by soldiers, but since the second burning, the tone of her worship has changed significantly. Before, she was a leader to guide soldiers into battle. Now, she tends to be viewed almost as a martyr- someone to fight for, and fight like. Corvarra, in a sense, died when she battled Osiron. That sense of sacrifice- losing oneself for the greater good, is what many of her worshipers wish to emulate. Prayer to Corvarra is done through spoken word, though it’s customary to lay any armor or weapons in front of you while doing the prayer. Her symbol was a steel gauntlet gripping flame, it is now a lamb cloaked in tattered red capes.
