For my capstone project I will be focusing on the topic of gun violence. Being such a hot topic right now I wanted to try tackling something that had weight to it in hopes of causing an emotional experience and potentially instigate more thoughts to take place about the topic. To accomplish this, I will be doing a remix that will mashup videos that intently work with the tone and lyrics of the song I have picked out, which speaks up about this tough current topic and paints an interesting picture. For the second piece I will be doing an animated infographic to try and layout a more factual analysis of the topic with information gathered from research found on the internet. Both are different approaches to a difficult topic, but together I am hoping provides a nice well rounded perspective for viewers to analyze themselves and formulate their own thoughts.
