Hypermedia Narrative

<h1>After School by Kendall Brandon</span></h1> You get home from school, park your car, and walk to the [[front door|front door]].

You wipe your shoes on the mat, open the door, and [[ enter the house]].

You kick off your shoes and make your way to the [[kitchen]]

You open the pantry door and begin to look for a snack. You reach in and grab (either: [[popcorn]],[[chips]])

You cook the popcorn in the microwave and take it to the [[living room]]

You open the bag and take it to the [[living room]]

You grab a blanket, sit on the couch, and [[turn on the tv]]

You accidentally fall asleep and wake up on the couch an hour later. You go to do your homework but realize that you left your backpack in your [[car]]

You open the front door and step outisde. You begin to walk towards your car and notice that your car isn't there and your now standing in a [[forest]]

Confused and a little scared you turn to go back into your house. But your house is gone and you are surrounded by [[trees]].

Not knowing what to do you begin to walk around and you come upon [[three paths]]

At first glance all of the paths look the same, so you use your best judgement and pick a path. [[Path 1]] [[Path 2]] [[Path 3]]

While walking down the path you hear footsteps. They start getting louder and faster. Then suddenly a dog jumps out of the bushes. (display:"response"), it says while continuing to walk down the path. You start to run to catch up with it farther down [[the path]].

While walking down the path you hear rustling in trees. The rustling is getting louder and closer. Then suddely a bird pops out of a tree. (display:"response"), it says while walking down the path. You start to run to catch up with it farther down [[the road]].

Once you catch back up with the dog you say "I don't know how I got here. Can you help me get back home?" "I'm not sure where your home is, but I can try. Follow me!" said the dog You follow the dog until you reach a gap in the trees. "This is as far as I can take you but just go right through there." "And then what?" you reply, but the dog is already gone so you make your way through the [[gap]]

You finally catch back up with the cat and tell her that you are lost. She says "I think I can help you. Follow me!" You continue to follow the cat until you reach a [[dirt road]]

Once you catch up with the bird you say "I don't know where I am or how I got here. Do you know how I can get back home?" The bird repsonds "Give me a second." then flies straight up above the trees and the after a minute comes back down. "Follow me!" it says. So you [[follow]]

"Well this is as far as I can take you" says the cat right before she turns and runs back off into the forest. Confused you yell back "Wait what am I supposed to do now?" With no response you decided to continue down the [[road]]

You reach the end of the dirt road and notice that all three paths have joined together in front of [[a house]]

All you can see for what seems like miles is a meadow full of lush green grass. [[meadow]]

The bird takes you to a long stretch of gravel and says "This is as far as I can go. Good luck getting home!" You say "Thank you for your help" and continue down the [[gravel path]]

You reach the end of the gravel path and notice that all three paths have joined together in front of [[a house]]

You walk up to the front door of the house and knock. The door flings open so you take a step [[inside]]

"Hello is anyone there?" you say as you make your way further into the house. There is no response, so you begin to explore the house and come across a hallway. You enter the [[hall]]

The hallway has five rooms, two on the left, two on the right, and one in the middle at the very end. You pick a room to enter. [[Room 1]] [[Room 2]] [[Room 3]] [[Room 4]] [[Room 5]]

You open the door and step inside, but there is nothing here so you return to the [[hall]]

This room is empty so you return to the [[hall]]

There is nothing to see in this room, so you return to the [[hall]]

The door is locked so you start to look for a way in. You run your hand on the top of the door frame and something falls on the floor It's a key! You use the key to unlock the door and enter the [[room]]

Behind the door is not a room, but a dark stairway. You look for a light but can't find one, so you carefully make your way down the [[stairs]]

You find a light switch and flip it on. All you see is a big empty room with one door at the other end. You across the room and open the [[door]]

You find yourself in a dark room once again, so you being to look for a light. You find a switch and flip it on. But it is not a light switch. A loud alarm begins to go off and the room turns red. Frightened you try to run back out of the room but you trip and everything goes [[dark]]

You open your eyes and realize that you are in bed and the loud beeping is your alarm clock. It was all just a dream.
