AJR Concert

Beep boop.
This was a really fun concert I went to in 2022. It's the biggest one I've been to yet! The band, AJR, is alt-rock, which is my favorite genre. Pictured is my best friend Jessica, myself, my partner Michael, and my sister Katie.

Skyview High School

Beep boop.
I went to Skyview High. I was very active in theater and choir! I can actually attribute fixing my speech impediment to these two things. Speech therapy couldn't teach me how to say R's, but Macbeth sure could. Pictured below is me in my costume for Almost, Maine, the first play I was on stage for!

Googleplex

Beep boop.
During junior year of high school, my family had an exchange brother from Spain! His name is Jorge, but we called him JoJo. He is very into tech, so we took a trip to California to explore some of Silicon Valley with him. At the time, Google had a lot with all of the previous Android version statues. Pictured here is JoJo, my sister Katie, Oreo the Android Figure, myself, and my brother, Austin.

Obligatory Baby Picture

Beep boop.
I was born in Hillsboro, Oregon. I only lived there for three months before moving to Arizona, hence why I still think it's spelt "Hillsborough" until I look it up. Even as a baby I was surrounded by pink. My parents had good taste in color. Oh, I was also a super bald baby, so all of my photos have me in a silly headband.

Bahn Mi Up

Beep boop.
This restaurant is amazing. I found it with my mom and my sister when my mom was randomly craving a bahn mi. I had never tried that type of sandwich before, and I was hooked at the first taste. They also have an amazing mint mango smoothie. Pictured is myself, my sister's partner Henry, and my sister Katie.

Cape Canaveral

Beep boop.
My dad used to be a rocket scientist, not to brag or anything. We got to visit Florida for the launch of the satellite he worked on. Pictured here is my brother, myself, my father, and my sister. I believe we were visiting Cocoa Beach on an off day, but I was young enough that I don't remember many specifics.

Hawaii

Beep boop.
My family visited Hawaii in 2022! We went to Oahu. I visited with my immediate family and my grandmother, who had already been years prior. It was gorgeous. I drank lots of coconut water and set aside my previous hatred for pineapple. I also had the best chicken wings of my life my first day there. Pictured is me, living the dream of drinking coconut water from a freshly opened coconut.

Longview Theater Contest

Beep boop.
This was my first and only theater competition! I did this my senior year of high school before COVID. We swept, taking awards for Best Play, Best Director, and more. The show we performed was Numbers by Kieron Barry. I got to play as a very mean british school girl, which was very fun. It also meant that I spoke in a British accent. For reference, I do not have a good British accent.

Kumuricon 2022

Beep boop.
This was my first convention! Kumuricon is a annual con in Portland focused on anime. I went with my partner for his birthday. When I was younger, I loved a show called Miraculous Ladybug, and the voice actress for Ladybug was there! Her name is Christina Vee. Pictured is her and myself posing like Ladybug.

Coug Day

Beep boop.
I'm a part of student government here at WSUV, and we host an annual trip to Olympia to lobby for bills that support students! Here I am with my team here. I loved this trip a lot. Not only was it incredibly valuable to learn how to lobby, but it was my first time in Olympia! I actually thrifted two vintage dresses and some cool vinyls while I was there. Pictured is James, Ash, myself, and Reem.

Disneyland

Beep boop.
While I was still living in California, I got to visit Disneyland with my family! I'm terrified of heights, but we thankfully got all of the scary rides over with in the morning. I then got a makeover at Bippity Boppity Boutique, which was very fun. I remember loving Little Thunder Mountain Railroad and Space Mountain, and hating Splash Mountain. I even tried to climb out of the ride on that one!

Multnomah Falls

Beep boop.
Anytime someone visits my family from out of state, it's required that we take them up to the falls. Despite this, I've only been to the bridge once and I've never gotten to hike the trails! It's a wish of mine to change this fact. They do have a great gift shop, though. I bought some Smokey the Bear socks there. Pictured is myself, my two aunts, my sister, and my brother.

Sauvie Island Farms

Beep boop.
This is a fantastic farm that my family loves to visit. They have a wide variety of fruit, veggies, and flowers, and it's all open to pick whatever you want. Pictured is myself and my sister Katie, though my mom is behind the camera.

High School Graduation

Beep boop.
I was the class of 2020 (yay.....). So, even though I was done with school in June, I didn't have a graduation until August, and it was limited. One of my teachers had a running joke where he called me "Ohio" (long story), and he happened to call my name at graduation. He called for "Kylie Elizabeth 'Ohio' Sickles". It surprised me so much it made me trip!

5th Grade Graduation

Beep boop.
Here I am graduating at Easterbrook Discovery School! I loved this school so much. It was a K-8, so I went there from 3rd grade through 7th grade, after which I moved to Washington. I remember all of my teachers so fondly. Anyways, during this mini-graduation, I got to say a little speech. I remember nothing about it.

Half-Alive Concert

Beep boop.
This was my first concert ever! I went for my 17th birthday with my sister. I love the band Half Alive and was so excited to see them. It was at the Crystal Ballroom, which has a suspended floor. It made my sister super sick, but I had a blast.

Halloweentown

Beep boop.
When I was a kid, there was a series of movied called Halloweentown. As it turns out, it was filmed by Mt. St. Helen's, and the town celebrates the movie every year! We went there when I was a freshman in high school and explored the town.

Cougar Hot Springs

Beep boop.
This year I went with the WSUV Rec Office to the Cougar Hot Springs! It was my first time and it was amazing. At least, it was once we got to the springs. We got stuck in the snow on the way up and it took up about an hour to go four miles. We got In-n-Out on the way back, though, so alls well that ends well. Pictured is my partner and myself.

KOUG Radio

Beep boop.
I am the KOUG Radio Station Manager here at WSUV! I started working with the station as a volunteer, which is how I snapped this photo of our mascot DJ'ing. The station dissolved due to COVID, but we are getting off the ground now! Check it out at KougRadio.org :).

One Year Anniversary

Beep boop.
In January 2023 I celebrated my first anniversary with my partner Michael! We went out to dinner at K-Town, a KBBQ restaurant that is all-you-can-eat. He got us matching plushies from one of the first video games we played together. It was a wonderful dinner.

Scott Lane Elementary

Beep boop.
For just one year, I went to Scott Lane Elementary. This is me on the first day! It was actually my first experience in a public school, as I was home schooled by various family members before. I loved the school, but hated that we had to wear uniforms.

Seattle

Beep boop.
In Junior Year of high school, my family hosted an exchange brother! His name is Jorge, but we called him JoJo. This is us visiting Seattle! I was actually going there to tour a school that I planned to go to after high school called AIE. I wanted to be a game designer, but decided against going to AIE due to the cost and the fact that I wouldn't be getting a regular Bachelor's degree. I am very glad that I decided to go to WSUV!

Tillamook Creamery

Beep boop.
My family went to Tillamook on a trip up here years ago. I don't remember much about it other than trying squeaky cheese for the first time. I mostly included this because I thought I looked funny in this picture. Speaking of, pictured is my brother, my sister, and myself.

Oregon Zoo

Beep boop.
Within the first year we lived in Vancouver, my family took a trip to the Oregon Zoo. Half of the exhibits were closed for various reasons, but we still had a lot of fun. It was the first time I tried "elephant ears", or fried dough covered in cinnamon and sugar! Pictured is myself getting eaten by a lion.
