About Wave to Earth
Wave to earth is a three member Korean-indie band under the "Wavy Seoul" Label, consisting of singer-songwriter and guitarist, Daniel Kim, bassist, John Cha, and drummer, Donggyu Shin. While these three are the offical members, the band also includes the saxophonist, Jeon-min, keyboardist, Jo-Jung-geun, and the artwork member, Hong Seung-gi. The band produces a medley of indie-pop, lofi, rock, and jazz, creating a one-of-a-kind sound unique to them and portraying a dreamy and atmospheric melody. They are also directly involved in their art direction in both album art, video, and fashion. They debuted on August 23, 2019 after they released their first single, "wave". During January 2020, the band released their first EP, titled "wave 0.01" and later during August 2020, their second EP, "summer flows 0.02". After continuing to release more singles throughout 2021-2022, the band released their first full-length album on April 20, 2023, called, "0.1 flaws and all." having the theme of "flaws and everthing else."
Although wave to earth is based in Seoul, Korea, the majority of their songs are written and recorded in English. The band got their name from their dream to create a big new wave with each other together. Remarkably, their "wave" has grown considerably and have listeners from all around the world. Their most popular song, "seasons" and "bad" took off and gained much recognition for the band. They currently have more than 6.2 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Because of their recent success, wave to earth has been able to fulfill their dream to tour in North America and is currently making their way through the U.S. Unexpectedly, their first round of tickets sold out immediately, so they decided to add more shows and upgrade their venues, all later selling out as well.
The bands dream to make music with each other and spread love to their listeners all around the world continues to grow. Wave to earth's music goal of encompassing the feeling of love in their music and lyrics can definitley be said to be undoubtedly true. The members continue to write, record, and master their music. "While listeners may not be able to give love every moment, I hope that when they listen to this album, even for a moment, they can become someone who can love themselves first." Daniel Kim explained in their documentary of the production for "0.1 flaws and all." in "wave to earth - 0.1 flaw and all_documentary 01" on their Youtube channel, "wave to earth".
