The initial strike from Visiri forces had left Earth's nations reeling; never before had we seen technological feats like the ones employed by the invaders. Despair threatened to overwhelm the world.
It is thanks to the men and women who kept a cool head, and the people who took the fight to the enemy, that humanity stands today.
Colonel Alyssa Root of the United States Marine Corps was the one who coordinated the first successful assault on one of the Visiri's enormous server-tripods, an act that destabilized the entire Visiri offensive in the Pacific Northwest theater.
With the strategic value of these servers revealed, it didn't take long for the world's militaries to capitalize. Within the span of a year and a half, most of the Visiri's servers were destroyed, drastically reducing the effectiveness of their smaller walkers.
For all their technological might, the Visiri themselves don't seem to be too versed in the ways of fighting. Whether that is due to the underestimation of their foe or their cultural practices, only time may tell.
