We have records of fossils, demonstrating that roses have existed 30 million years ago, in Europe. Many believe roses were originated in Central Asia, China, around 5,000 years ago. They were grown in imperial gardens of the Chou dynasty (551-479 BC). Most of the cultivated roses, that we grow today are hybrids from species native to China. Now, they are everywhere. In the late 18th century, roses were introduced to Europe.
