Mac Miller, born Malcolm McCormick was an American singer songwritter born in Point Breeze, Pittsburgh, PA. He first rose to fame in 2010 when he signed a record label which he then released his breakthrough albums K.I.D.S and Best Day Ever.
Miller was a self taught musician, learned how to play the piano, guitar,drums, and bass by the age of six. In his hearly high school days he grew a passion for singing and wanted to persue that dream by taking music more serious. His original name that he went by musicallly was Easy Mac but then later changed to his now known name Mac Miller.
Influences Miller included Big L, Lauryn Hill, Beastie Boys, Outkast, and A Tribe Called Quest among his influences. He had a close relationship with fellow Pittsburgh rapper Wiz Khalifa, saying "Wiz has been a big brother to me with this music thing so far. Our relationship is beyond music."
Miller was deeply admired by his eagerness to create and his curiosity about life.
