The Past
Standing out was the worst thing that he felt could have happened to him. Raphael grew up being the odd one out for most of his life. He did not connect with the other children, as they shunned him and did not want anything to do with him.
So he grew, and he slowly understood that he was never going to be the same as everyone else. He took the sorrow that he felt from being so lonely, and he channeled it into art.
He tried to show it to others, but it didn't matter how good it was, they still continued to hurt him. He persisted, but they so did they. Eventually, he shut everyone out, and decided that being alone was better than trying to find people, and getting hurt in the process.
Unfortunately for him, he also shut himself off from creating.
He felt impotent and lost, and the creativity within him died.
