During Jean Lacey’s 16 years as Executive Director, she pioneered numerous outreach and assistance programs. Lacey went on to serve as a national and international consultant for the YWCA of Clark County.

Y’s Buys opens at 700 Main Street and is a huge success, helping to fund expanded programs and staff.
Mrs. Estelle B. Burhans resigns from the board after serving since 1918.
1967
YWCA Clark County offers a sex education series for female teens ages 12-14. 1,200 teens attended the event at Shumway Middle School.
1968
YWCA establishes a program for interracial and interreligious understanding called Understanding Each Other (UEO).
“Sharing Your Faith”, a religious program emphasizing faith sharing is started. This program featured a series of visits to various religious houses.
