A support group for Teen Mothers is established.

YWCA establishes CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program through a grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.
1983
International Women’s Day Festival hosted by Older Women’s League (OWL) featuring a film fair, open conferences and forums about nuclear war, plays, exhibits of women’s styles, discussions and demonstrations.
1984
YWCA offers legal advocacy program for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.
1986
Support group for women who have had mastectomies and women in transition are formed.
YWCA receives $7,000 grant to fight sexual abuse from the Oregon Community Foundation and United Way Columbia-Willamette.
Task Force on Racial Justice formed following a racial incident among several families at the Skyline Crest Housing Project.
