In the last 10 years, video games have only become more and more popular. In 2000 video game revenue was worth $36.17 billion. In 2010, revenue was up to $62.7 billion. By 2020 it increased to $159.3 billion. Video game revenue is expected to top $200 billion by the year 2023. As gaming and technology becomes easier to access around the world, the industry continues to grow.

PlayStation

PlayStation Plus launched in 2010. In 2021 it had 47.1 million subscribers. Some of the most popular PlayStation games include; Spider-Man, Black Desert Online, God of War, Ghosts of Tsuhima, and The Last of Us.

Steam

Steam doesn't have a paid subscription, but it averaged 2.5 million users online in 2010. In 2021, Steam averaged 120 million users a month. The most popular Steam games are; Stardew Valley, The Witcher, Counter-Strike Global Offensive, Grand Theft Auto V, Terraria, and Dota 2.

Xbox

Xbox Live had 25 million users in 2010. In 2021 that number has increased to 100m subscribers. The most popular Xbox games are: Halo: The Master Chief Edition, Black Desert Online, Minecraft, Forza Horizon, Fortnite, and Gears 5.

Nintendo

Nintendo Switch Online currently has 32 million subscribers. The Nintendo Switch Online Service was launched in 2018. Some of the most popular Nintendo games are: Mario Kart 8, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Super Mario Party.

Mobile

Mobile games have exploded onto the scene since the invention of the smartphone. In 2010, mobile game revenue was only $550 million. That number increased to 20.45 billion in 2020. Some of the most popular mobile games are Pokemon GO, Candy Crush Saga, PUBG MOBILE, Clash of Clans, Call of Duty: Mobile, Among Us, and Garena Free Fire.
