1900 - 1929
During this time period, the following, but not limited to, events took place: Progressive Era to New Era, Automobiles become popular, Immigrants in the Progressive Era, The first Olympic Games to be held in the U.S. happens in St. Louis, U.S. Participation in the Great War (World War I), and Women's Suffrage in the Progressive Era. The first documented gay rights organization started in the US. The first U.S. Theater, named the Nickelodeon, opens in Pittsburgh.
1929 - 1945
Events included, but not limited to: Great Depression and World War II, Art and Entertainment soars in the 1930s and 1940s, The Dust Bowl, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and the New Deal, Labor Unions During the Great Depression and New Deal, and Race Relations in the 1930s and 1940s.

African Americans begin to soar with their talents a whole lot more. Famous Black people included, but not limited to: HAndrew J. Beard, Lewis Latimer, George Washington Murray, John Parker, and Norbert Rillieux. Seperate but Equal is issued by the United States Government.
1900 - 1929
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored (NAACP) is formed. African Americans created the first black self-sufficient prosperous business district called Black Wall Street. The Great Migration of Black people from the South to the North begins. Famous Black people included, but are not limited to: Elijah McCoy, Madame C.J. Walker (the first black millionaire), Granville T. Woods, and Bessie Coleman. Birth of a Nation inspires the Ku Klux Klan (KKK).
1929 - 1945
Black Americans had a 50 percent unemployment rate compared to 25 percent in the U.S. population in general. Black were only hired for low-paying dirty jobs that no one else wanted. The saying, "No Jobs for Niggers Until Every White Man Has a Job" is coined by white people. Other black people who were able to keep what little jobs they had, had their wages cut in half. The number of lynchings of Black Americans rises. Redlining becomes a trend.
