Shoyu Poke

Poke (pronounced 'po-kay') is diced raw fish served either as an appetizer or as a main course and is one of the main dishes of Native Hawaiian cuisine.

Ingredients

Cut tuna in cubes.

Directions

  1. [1] Prepare tuna in the same way as above (defrosted, rinsed, and sliced into cubes).
  2. [2] Place in a bowl and add soy sauce, sesame oil, sesame seeds, shredded nori, scallions (reserving a bit of the scallions for garnish), and sliced onions.
  3. [3] Mix gently, but thoroughly, until tuna is well coated. Let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and up to a few hours.
  4. [4] Let marinate in the fridge for at least 30 minutes and up to a few hours.
  5. [5] Top with remaining scallions and serve!
