It's better to have and not need then need and not have. Throw a blanket in your car, just in case. #winterize

Capstone Proposal
For my capstone project I will be addressing the issue of winterizing your vehicle. Our cars play an essential role in our everyday lives and with winter coming we need to give them a little more attention. Winterizing your vehicle is not only necessary for efficient operation, but also plays a huge role in the safety of you and those around you on the road. We commonly overlook little things that can really save us in the long run. Little things like windshield washer fluid, tire pressure, windshield wiper condition and even carrying a blanket just in case. These examples are just a few of the small things that add up to make your vehicle safe for winter roads. Performing these preventative tasks don’t need to cost hundreds of dollars and are all things you can do yourself. Most auto parts stores even give free assistance when it comes to things like checking tire pressure, replacing wiper blades, etc. We rely so heavily on our vehicles every day, multiple times a day to get us where we need to go safely and reliably. I think they deserve a little attention as winter approaches to get them ready to conquer the roads because a little time and money now can save a lot of time and money later.
Capstone Project on Net Neutrality
I will be doing my capstone project on net neutrality. “Network Neutrality is the principle according to which Internet traffic shall be treated equally, without discrimination, restriction or interference regardless of its sender, recipient, type or content, so that Internet users’ freedom of choice is not restricted by favoring or disfavoring the transmission of Internet traffic associated with particular content, services, applications, or devices.” I will be doing an infograph and informational video seeking to inform others about net neutrality. Some of the questions I will answer are: What is net neutrality? Why do we have it? Who does it regulate? Why is it even important? What if we did not have net neutrality? What might that look like? There are some countries that do not have net neutrality and still have internet. What does their usage look like?
The most recent net neutrality rules were enacted by the Supreme Court and upheld by the FCC in 2015. It is a current social issue because the rules are now being fought that we should not have a free and open internet and that the broadband companies that net neutrality regulates should be able to roll back the rules in their favor. This is an important social issue because it effects every internet user not only based on the ability to use the internet, but the principle of fairness to not be slowed down because you are wanting to look at a specific site.
Why should you care about #NetNeutrality ? Without it, content can be blocked and speed can be throttled at the provider's will.
— Marissa Welch (@marbeewelch) November 2, 2017
It's crazy to think the countries with no #NetNeutrality laws are those under a dictatorship: Russia, China, Myanmar. Is that what we want?
— Marissa Welch (@marbeewelch) November 2, 2017
In 2015, the FCC enacted #netneutrality rules to protect consumers. Companies are already trying to undo that. https://t.co/5FSvFCLL34
— Marissa Welch (@marbeewelch) November 2, 2017
YOU should control what sites you want to use, not the internet providers. #savetheopeninternet #netneutrality
— Marissa Welch (@marbeewelch) November 5, 2017
Imagine paying different amounts for each type of site you want to use… that's what will happen if the rules for #NetNeutrality go away.

What Makes A Good Movie?
Many of the movies that have come out recently have really disappointed me. New movies seem to be remakes of old movies or heavily rely on old franchises that have gone on for too long and have no soul left in them. I think movies have forgotten how to be good without the backing of a strong franchise. For my capstone project I want to talk about what makes a good movie and discuss why many “new” movies that come out are falling short.
To begin, I’ll be making an infographic that outlines what makes a good movie. I’ll be using the main points and concepts from the book “Plot Versus Character” and have images that go well with it. Then, I will make a remix video that builds off of the infographic information and juxtaposes the old and new Star Wars trilogies. Within the remixed video I will show a clip of what good writing looks like from one of the trilogies and a clip from another trilogy of bad writing. I’ll also talk about what works well in both trilogies and what could have been done to make them more interesting. I may also add in other popular movies that have come out recently and add some movies I really enjoy watching. I think the infographic and remix will build off of one another and help reinforce the ideas I have laid out.
I don’t believe the amount of money a movie makes necessarily shows the quality of the film.#moneygrab

Would you rather make an under-rated quality film or a piece of garbage that makes record amounts of money?#quality#quantity
— Luke (@lef4luke) November 7, 2017
Many new movies today are so predictable I feel like I’ve already seen them before they come out.#predictablemovie
— Luke (@lef4luke) November 7, 2017
How many movies is the right amount of movies for a franchise to be entertaining, but not overdone?#overkill #deadfranchise

Do you find the characters in the new Star Wars movies relatable?#believablecharacter

Counter Culture, Art, and the growing influence of Activism
In todays less-than kind geopolitical landscape it is becoming more and more important to remain politically active and to voice your opinion and standing on various societal issues. Examples of this being the case can be seen in the increased turn outs for voting during the 2016 presidential election and the increased attention todays LGBTQ community have been fighting for. For my Capstone Project I would like to discuss the growing importance of counter culture, art and their various fringe counterparts, and their close relationship to activism, in relation to our current era. I plan to use the remix video to outline the topic, compare and contrast the no-wave movement of the 60’s and 70’s and all of its importance to similar movements happening now, along with a normal info-graphic which I intend to use to display information on important movements in the past and the effect they had on important political decisions such as the peaceful protests of African Americans and their influence to change legislature, the no wave movement and its rejection of various social norms that helped mold society into a much more accepting culture. The information on this info-graphic will be presented in a by-the-numbers manner in hope to display the power and influence these movements have, and the importance of utilizing it. These two pieces of media will relate to one another with the remix film displaying the colorful nature of these movements as they are in themselves, significant and beautiful, while the info-graphic will root the subject matter into something more concrete by providing statistics on how important these movements are as well as how they can be used today.

DTC Capstone Project
My Capstone project will focus on the history of Video Games and the collation of violence in America.
The main objects this will focus on are the following:
- Quick history of video games.
- Best and worst games in history.
- Evaluation of video games.
- History of the evolution of violence in video games.
- Growth of violence in video games.
- Society’s response to violence in games.
- Government’s response to violent games.
- Scientific studies corresponding to the violence of the games.
- Rating System for Video Games.
- Show the infographic (maybe animated) on the rating and what they represent.
- Show a video compilation of the above-mentioned subject.
Objective:
The objective of this Capstone is to give the viewer a comprehensive view of the history of violence, the effect on society/users and how society had dealt with it.
