With my interest and passion in film and the rise of AI tools, I now believe that now more than ever is the time to recognize that anything is possible with AI and human collaboration. There are endless opportunities and ideas that are waiting to be created. Although I realize that with AI technology always changing and adapting, the fears that a sense of human authenticity might be erased is common when using these tools. However, these AI tools prove useful as it can create close digital concepts and forms of what the human mind makes up. The imaginations of humans can be transformed into visual and tangible forms and it tries its hardest to transfer the knowledge from the mind to an output. With AI technology rapidly evolving, good detailed descriptions, and human revisions, it is becoming more efficient to have that transfer of knowledge and information brought to life.
Art and film have always been such easy platforms to experiment on and with AI it can be enhanced, twisted, revised, expanded, shrunk, etc. with the help of a human and their imaginations to create it. I am drawn to artistic forms of expression and I know film and art have been deeply intertwined with each other while AI is slowly creeping in, but I still believe that even with the addition of these tools, anything created by it is still considered as art. The collaboration between human imagination and AI will result in a fusion of traditional and futuristic elements that is already bringing a new era of artistic revolution. With ideas being creations from AI tools, not only will they be known as technological feats but they will also be retaining their artistic integrity and value while still having the always existent contribution of human expression.
To help me with this research, my GPT is tailored to assist me in generating short film ideas emphasizing genres of either dystopian or Latino genres. I asked it to be communicating with me through a casual manner and be providing film terms to increase my knowledge on film terms. My GPT is culturally sensitive, and will be avoiding stereotypes and focusing on diversity. It will help me come up with innovative ideas for narratives, character development, and visual elements for a film, specifically ones that will either be fictional/dystopian or one that uplifts Latino culture. My GPT will also assist in creating vision boards that reflect these themes using DALLE and its web browsing function.
My research statement will focus on the creative side of AI with an emphasis on film and art. I am really excited for what’s to come with using this GPT especially created for me and I am anxious to see my many ideas that are flowing to my head already in a digitally tangible form.
