First WordPress Project
For your first project, you will create a web site using the WordPress content management system. The purposes of this site are to:
- Familiarize you with the WordPress system.
- Create a site that will either display or provide links to all of your other coursework.
For this first project, your site will contain three pages:
- A Home Page – This page should contain a short (20 to 50 word) welcome statement, 1 image, and links to the other three pages.
- A Blog Page – This page will contain your postings of your reading responses throughout the semester.
- Short Media Essay Page – Write a short essay (350 to 500 words) describing your experience with one specific medium and post it on this page. Describe what you like or dislike about it. Your essay page should also contain 1 image, video clip, or audio clip that relates the medium you write about.
Note -Your WordPress site should contain the actual essay, not a just a link to the essay.
Before each class your will post a response to three (for section 1) or 1 (for section 2) readings due for that day. Each response should be at least 200 words. You are encouraged to supplement your posts with media files that are relevant to your response.
You will continue to develop your WordPress site throughout the semester. The revised site will serve as your final project in the class.
