Throughout my life, I’ve enjoyed exploring the use of acrylic paint. I began when I was young in elementary school, but didn’t truly engage with it until 2020 when I wanted to create a painting for a present.
I specifically like working on small canvasses, as my subjects often aren’t large enough to fit on a large canvas and I always get nervous about filling it.
I often will make these paintings as gifts for others, as they are small enough to not be a burden but also meaningful and take quite a bit of time.
Finally, I prefer acrylic over other types of paint for its cost-effectiveness and quick drying. When I’ve worked with oil paints before, they took far too long to dry and I often smudged them unintentionally. I like working in layers, so the quick drying effect of acrylic works very well with my style.
