Sightseeing in Wyoming

Wildlife of Jackson Hole, Wyoming

I have lived in many places growing up, and of the coolest, most beautiful states I have ever been to was Wyoming. My family lived right next to the Grand Teton National Park; absolutely gorgeous place! The winter is brutal but amazing. Everything about Wyoming was so memorable to me as a kid, and one of those aspects was seeing all the wildlife. Here I woud like to show and briefly discuss some of the wildlife I witnessed here, even in my backyard! Click each marker to view/read about some cool wildlife viewing areas!

Oxbow Bend

Be very careful when spotting moose. Moose are very aggressive creatures, especially if you see mamas with their babies, stay far FAR away from them. Mothers are extremely dangerous and WILL charge anything she sees as a threat, even at bears. A mama and her baby lived in my neighborhood in Wyoming, and because of this I missed the bus for school quite a few times! Better safe than sorry.

Cascade Canyon

The tiny rodents of Wyoming are so adorable and fluffy! It is something hard to spot these little creatures, but when you do it sure is a sight to see. Most burrowing animals in Wyoming are nocturnal, so it is rare to see them out during morning/mid-day.

Timbered Island

Antelope and elk are not as aggressice as moose when sightseeing. Always be careful though, and keep your distance as to not disturb them, especially in Spring. If you get the chance to hear elk bugle, it's a whole new exerience!

Mormon Row

Nothing more amazing than seeing a bison herd cross the road! These mammals are big and unbothered for most of the time. Always keep your distance and if you see a bison stick it's tail straight up, than something has provoked it. Stay away! Otherwise these animals are goofy and fun to watch roll in the dirt with their babies!
