My name is Megan Strickland and I am a 22 year old student at Washington State University in Vancouver, Washington. I am a Digital Technology and Culture student focusing in web design. This is my first year in the DTC program. I have also studied at Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington.
In addition to being a DTC student, I am also a Psychology student. After working at a mental health facility for 4 years, I decided that the psychology road is not for me, but would still like to finish out my degree. I believe there is a lot of overlap between psychology and technology, especially in the realms of social media.
Being a part of the generation who literally grew up on the computer, I find technology both fun and approachable. There are many things I don't know, but because of my familiarity with the overall subject, I am always ready and willing to learn new things. Like most people my age, I gained basic HTML/CSS skills from creating page layouts on social media sites like MySpace and Quizilla.
