A Little About Me

Nathanael Rawson is a student at Washington State University Vancouver studying Digital Media and Culture, with emphasis on front-end development and game design. Before, he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Medical Anthropology of Global Health from The University of Washington.

He has always wanted to pursue user experience design in a way that mixes responsive and cross-platform techniques. A favorite project of his was when he worked with low-income Portlanders. Through ethnographic interviews and photography they had the ability to share their stories to higher-ups in the Multnomah County Health Department. The project’s intended effect was to educate management as to which parts of rehabilitation were effective for clients.

Nathanael has a background in web development: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, including JQuery and React. He has also worked extensively in the Unity environment. Apart from coding in Unity’s MonoDevelop, he has developed blendshape animations, particle systems, and virtual reality implementation in applications.

In his professional life, Nathanael hopes to gain insight into UX design principles through development of cutting edge applications utilizing the latest technologies. With his degrees in Digital Technology and Medical Anthropology, Nathanael has the ability to adapt to a wide variety of user-centric design situations.
