Project Proposal
For my capstone project, I will be focusing on one of my passions outside of class, Oil Painting. After taking a painting course at Clark College, I learned so much about this medium that I had no idea was included! I have made an infographic on solvent, one of the necessary supplies needed to start oil painting, as this can be a big road bump when learning how to us oil paints. The infographic includes the multiple different types of solvents and how to propertly handle the flammable substance. The infographic is almost a safety poster, providing information and giving fair warning about the chemicals being used. It is important to understand how to propertly use solvent for painting. For my video remix, I put together a collection of clips to help visualy demonstrate the supplies needed to start oil painting. The overall theme is kept relaxing, as starting a new medium can be stressful. The information is kept simple to help new comers understand the supplies without using experienced language. The projects provide two different forms of delivering information that is needed to experience oil painting. Hopefully, this overall project can help inspire others to pick up oil painting and set them up to continue their learning on their own.
