During the year 2017, 2.5% of men were victims of violent crime, versus 1.7% of women. To be more specific, 0.9% of men were victims of assault versus 0.5% of women. This is a common trend that has been occuring for a very, very long time. Men are more likey to commit crimes, yes, but they are still more likely to be victims.
