Principle of Nonviolence

Principle of Nonviolence proposal:

I will be making my Capstone Project website about the principle of nonviolence, and the effects of violence on people, and how mitigating violence can increase the welfare of all people. The two media objects I will be creating for my Capstone Project are an infographic made in Adobe Illustrator, and a video remix made with Adobe's Premiere Pro. My primary focus will be addressing the question of what a principle of nonviolence is and why it is important to seek a world of nonviolent outcomes by showing the reader the cost and outcomes of violence. I also aim to provide links to humanitarian organizations who have advocated for nonviolence.

One proposed idea for my infographic will be to use it as a teaching tool to teach people about the effects and statistics of violence, and the negative outcomes violence perpetuates. This infographic may include nonviolent principles from Martin Luther King Jr. If certain elements are not contained within the infographic they will be included in the description box for the infographic.

My video remix will be a compilation of various nonviolent advocates speaking about the effects of violence, and what efforts one can take in their life to think or act less violently toward others. Some videos may include humanitarian work or advocacy for ending violence against women and children. The primary focus will be about Martin Luther King Jr's legacy with ThinKING, an effort to teach people the importance and value of human life.
