Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio

Author Statement

The purpose of this assignment was to make a narrative website about any topic of our choice. I chose to make my narrative website about the life of an Italian painter named Michelangelo Merisi, also known as Caravaggio, and I made a small gallery with some paintings from different parts of his life. I chose Caravaggio because I learned a little bit about him in an art history class, and I wanted to learn more about him because he was one of my favorite artists that I learned about in that class.

I wanted this website to have a horizontal scroll so it would look more like a timeline, but I had some trouble with it at first since this was my first time making a horizontal scroll. I also had trouble fitting all of my text and images on my website without having a vertical scroll. To solve this problem, I cut out some text that I thought was unnecessary and I made only the images visible until you hover over one with the mouse to reveal the text. I also used a grid to make everything appear horizontally.
