Multimedia Creations
A Flickering Light
Written in winter of 2018, "A Flickering Light" is a short memoir dictating a few of my experiences as a queer youth in a conservative, Christian environment. It was published in the 2019 copy of Clark College literary magazine, "The Phoenix" and was selected for the Editor's Choice award. It also placed second for Clark College's "Bostwick/Gallivan Prize for Creative Writing."
Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird
Created for DTC 355, this was my first hand-coded website. Given the prompt of envisioning a website that revolved around "Thirteen Ways of Looking at a Blackbird," I attempted to capture a Halloween-esque atmosphere to give a different take on the meaning.
Sandbakkels Recipe
When asked to develop a recipe website, Sandbakkels were the only delicacy I wanted to choose. Coming from my Norwegian roots, the Sandbakkels recipe has been passed down from one generation to the next. I built this website with a soft color palette and precise instructions to create the ultimate cookie.
A Night in the Forest
Inspired by my interest in Wendigos and Native American culture, I used this project as a way of combining creative writing and coding. Utilizing Skrollr, I created a multimedia website that includes sound, moving imagery, and writing to tell a short, tragic story.
