Raf Simons
Born January 12, 1968 in Neerpelt, Belgium. Raf was originally a furniture and industrial design
student in Genk. In 1990, his friend took him to his first fashion show; a Martin Margiela show. Prior
to this, Raf found fashion to be frivolous and superficial. Known for his outlandish designs, with
minimal, but futuristic influences, Simons really stands out from the crowd. Currently the head designer of
Calvin Klein's womenswear and menswear ready-to-wear brands, he has worked his way up from his 1995 launch of
his first menswear collection.
