National Take a Walk in the Park Day is this Saturday

Salmon Creek Trail with dog-WJP-0003Saturday, March 30th is National Take A Walk in the Park Day. With the spring temperatures predicted over 60 degrees, it will be the perfect day to grab those tennis shoes, put the lease on the dog and head out into one of our hundreds of parks! Besides, studies have shown a direct link between lower stress and blood pressure by those that take time to walk in a green space or park.

If you want to get out into nature and away from city noises, try Lewisville Park in Battle Ground. It offers riverside paved trails as well as a forested hillside loop, plus swing sets and play structures for the kids. On the way there stop by Lucky Memorial Off-leash Park in Brush Prairie and let Fido get the wiggles out.

If you’re wondering about the parks in east Clark County, try Forest Home Park in Camas. Lacamas Lake Park is always a great option with several loops including hikes alongside Lacamas Creek leading down to NE 3rd avenue.
