Announcing the First of Our 2019 Florence B. Wager Award Recipients

Congratulations to Erin Beck as a V-FORMATION FLYER Award winner!

Vancouver Parks and Recreation’s Teen Late Night and Everybody Plays, The Good Sport Equipment Connection, the Police Activities League (PAL) and the Parks Foundation Board of Directors — these are just a few of the organizations Erin Beck actively participates in and supports, often leading the charge on sports and recreational initiatives or programs.

“The first to lend a hand, organize and execute a task, Erin’s spirit of service is contagious and has been a benefit to countless youth professionals,” said Rian Davis with the Clark County Realtors Association. “She is the type of person you want to be involved in the community and as a role model — smart, driven, selfless, organized, and passionate.”

In 2017, Erin was instrumental in taking the partnership with the Vancouver Parks and Recreation to another level. She led an incredible engagement with Vancouver’s Teen Late Night program through the Nautilus Cares program in partnership with the Portland Trail Blazers. This included funding for Teen Late Night throughout the school year as well as support for a series of basketball clinics with the Trail Blazers and community outreach staff. The culminating event was a fantastic Blazers “gym takeover” with over 300 local teens attending the evening activities.

Erin is continually building partnerships. She brings ideas to life and launches programs aimed at getting kids off the couch and engaged in sports and exercise for physical, emotional and mental health. Erin is on a mission to create access to healthy lifestyles for at-risk youth. As our community and it’s needs continue to grow, this is no small task. Through her work and service, Erin Beck is increasing the number of youth that programs like Teen Late Night can assist.

The V-FORMATION FLYER AWARD recognizes the spirited volunteer whose dedication goes above and beyond, unhesitatingly giving of their time and resources to organize, develop, and enhance the parks, trails, and recreational programs in our community.
