This nine – week, free summer program serves four local neighborhood parks in Battle Ground and brings fun, recreation, and organized play to kids during summer break. This program also serves families from Amboy, Hockinson, Yacolt and other North County residents as well as one park in Ridgefield. Through arts, craft projects, and games, children are free to use their imagination.
Parents and grandparents are invited to join the activities and together they learn to play. Each week has a themed activity and a take – home art project as part of the fun! This program served over 1,800 children in 2019 and the summer playground program continues to grow each year. This grant covers a portion of staffing costs and all materials and supplies to bring a program to kids that is affordable, accessible and fun!
