The Saint Louis Arch, a totally non-functional (except for the tourists) 66-story stainless-steel parabola makes this city perfect for an SF convention. Think of Ringworld, or a giant metal rainbow in the sky, and you'll have no trouble appreciating the view.

This preconference program for SlamCon '88 is being distrubited as freeware. Make as many copies as you can and give them to everyone you know. Urge them to attend. Promise enlightnemnet. Promise deviant sex. Promise really great keg parties in the ConSuite. (That one, we think we can reasonably deliver.)

Introducing
SLAMCON

SLAMCON is The Society for the Promulgation of Alternative Science, Technology, and Individual Consciousness. SLAMCON is a division of the Center for Mental Penship, a non-profit educational instituation dedicated to promoting and disseminating alternative viewpoints about reality, particularly through the medium of science fiction. We are not (despite the charges you may have seen on some tabloid TV shows) a 'religion.' We leave that to Other -- much more uniquely suited -- SF instituations.
Election of officers will be held at the cleanup party. One more reason to pitch in and help, eh?

Convention Weapons Rules:
All weapons MUST be peace bonded.

Check in IMMEDIATELY, upon arrival, at the ConSuite

If you must wear full costume continually, do not joke with or antagonize the locals or the Normals. St. louis is a tourist and convention center, and many tourists and conventioneers have no sense of humor and/or may be armed.
With REAL guns. the life you save could be your OWN.

At convention functions, standard weapons rules are in force: You shoot it, you eat it.
