One of the most fascinating genres of video games, explained in one simple site.

"Prey" by Arkane Studios

Prey is a science fiction game that takes place on a space station overrun by alien creatures. In the game, players are given access to a tool called "The Gloo Gun." This Glue Gun can create a quickly-solidifying substance that can be used for a variety of different things.

For example, it can be used to create barriers that block enemies from attacking you. Or it can be used to create makeshift staircases for you to climb up to high surfaces. And there are many, many more different things it can be used for.

"Deus Ex: Mankind Divided" by Eidos Montreal

Like Prey, this is a science fiction game, but this time it takes place in a dystopian European city. The game allows players a large amount of freedom in how they accomplish objectives, and the game gives you multiple different pathways for getting to your destinations.

For example, in the game you can choose to be stealthy or solve combat encounters by going in guns blazing. If you choose to be stealthy, you can use the variety of different weapons and tools the game gives you to sneak around enemies however you want.

This is a unique indie game in which you play as an assassin tasked with killing various individuals. The game allows the players to purchase many different weapons and pieces of equipment. These can be combined with one another to create unique playstyles, and they can be used to tackle objectives in any way you wish.

For example, a player could purchase heavy armor and a grappling hook, allowing them to move very fast around an area while also having high protection. This can be used to take on a more direct approach to killing your target.
