Clark County
Homelessness
OUR GOAL

There is an increasing homeless problem in Clark County Washington. According to the Clark County Community Action Advisory Board, dated January 10, 2017, the homeless population for Clark County has dramatically increased. Factors for this increase include a large population growth in the county over the last five years as well as vacancy rates dropping due to an increase in rent costs. Additionally, many of these individuals and families are unable to provide for themselves and require assistance with food and clothing as well as shelter. Moreover, we view that there is an inordinate focus on the City of Vancouver and less of a focus on Clark County as a whole. The audience for our project is twofold. The first is providing knowledge and information regarding the homeless issue in Clark County for those who may or may not be aware of the extent of the problem. This will be accomplished through this website and informational videos that will include interviews with persons who work with the homeless. The second is to provide a comprehensive and interactive website that people can use to locate community programs in Clark County that can provide food, clothing and shelter.
