Designing Content
In most of my classes I was tasked with designing content for various platforms and reasons. Although I am an amateur artist, many of the tools and concepts we used were brand new to me. I enjoyed my time learning new ways to create. Here are some examples of my design work.
THE BLACKBIRD PROJECT

Our first project in DTC 355 was to design and code a poem by Wallace Stevens called Blackbird. It was our introduction to html and css. The coding was the main objective, however consideration was given if we looked at the poem in a new and different way. I researched what was going on in the world when Stevens wrote this poem — WWI and a pandemic — and designed my Blackbird project based on the feelings he may have been having at the time. I was soon to find out the significance of my research. Not long after creating this, word of a possible pandemic began to spread.
THE RECIPE PROJECT

The Recipe Project was an exercise in responsive design. Also a DTC 355 assignment, we were tasked with finding a recipe and pictures and developing a pleasing and responsive design. Chocolate Chip cookies was a natural choice for me. The recipe and photos are my own.
THE NARRATIVE PROJECT

For our narrative Project in DTC 355 we were supposed to explore some of the alternative design methods available to us to design a multi-page or multi-section site. I choose covering the pandemic. I chose to write a poem and make a time-line of sorts — using side-scroll — to represent the repeating patterns of time, comparing and contrasting Covid19 with the 1918 pandemic.
SKEDADDLE PNW INSTAGRAM

For a group project in COMSTRAT 310, Digital Content Promotion, we were supposed to make up a faux business and start a website and blog. My idea was to have a travel site. I was also the person in charge of logo, fonts and color theme. Once our business was established, we were tasked with making content for social media sites while staying true to our branding.
SKEDADDLE INFOGRAPHIC

This is an infographic for 310. The goal was to continue branding our faux business while providing interesting and asthetic content that people would be inclined to share.
